In Tanzania it was officially established on 2005 and our efforts work towards creating environment where children’s rights are protected and sustainable development of communities through empowerment, leadership and ownership.

Good Neighbors Tanzania is looking for individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following roles;

Title: Assistant Operational Officer

Department: Operation

Reporting Line: Operation Officer

Location: Nyarugusu Camp

Contract Duration: 9th September to 31st December 2019

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out feasibility studies in regard to technical aspects for energy efficiency on retained heat cooker and biomass briquettes.
  • Manage energy projects through completion and ensure conditions of associated funds are met.
  • Facilitate and provision of training on use of RHC, Kiln, char powder producing, operation and production of charcoal briquette through machine plant.
  • Demonstrates solid technical knowledge and experience in the field of alternative cooking energy.
  • Supervise project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities.
  • Coordinate the identifications of alternative cooking energy projects, both utility scale and small scale distributed renewable energy, and the evaluation of identified projects with regards to their stages and specific needs in the project development.

Qualification, experiences and competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in renewable energy, forestry, environmental science and management, mechanical engineering and any other related field.
  • At least 2 years experience in alternative cooking energy on making retained heat cooker (RHC) and manufacturing of charcoal briquette.
  • Experience with working with international NGO is an added advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
