1.0 TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication established on July 1, 2000 and suitably is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainland’s Trunk and Regional Roads Network. Its primary functions include the roads network maintenance and axle load control, the implementation of road safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework policies and plans for the road sector. 

The Regional Manager TANROADS – MARA is looking for suitable qualified Tanzania candidates foposts available on renewable contract terms at Sirari and Rubana Weighbridge Stations in Min Region, Regional Manager TANROADS – Man invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the following positions: 

WEIGHBRIDGE STATION POSTS: 

POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIDGE SHIFT INCHARGE (1POST).

A: Key qualification for the Shift In-charge: 

  1. Holder of Undergraduate Degree in any profession. 2
  2. Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications): 
  3. Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages: 
  4. Must be Tanzanian Citizen 
  5. Between 35 and 40 Years of Age. 

B: Duties and Responsibilities of Shift In-charge.  The shift In-charge who reports to the Regional Manager will be responsible for 

  1. Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of weighbridge scale devices;
  2. Supervising shift activities that among others including: 
  • Weighing motor Vehicles Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) 23,500kg plying on our public Roads: 
  • Imposing road damage sees on the spot for overloaded vehicles: 
  • Measuring physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for providing advices to transporter in case of noncompliance with vehicle dimension limit: 
  • Recording all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed; 
  • Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity;
  • Reporting all matters on Axle Load Control to the Regional Manager, 
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager: 

C:       REMUNERATION 

According to TANROADS Salary Scale: TRS 5.1

1.12. POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATORS (5 POSTS). 

A: Key qualification for the Weighbridge Operator: 

  1. Holder of full Technician Certificate or Ordinary Diploma in Civil: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (FTC); 
  2. Must be Computer literate(at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications): 
  3. Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages: 
  4. Must be Tanzanian Citizen
  5. Not above 33 years of Age. 

B:  Duties and Responsibilities of Weighbridge Operator.  The holder of this post who reports to Shift In charge will be responsible for. 

  1. Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of weighbridge scale devices;
  2. Carrying out activities as described in the road Traffic (maximum weight of Vehicles) Regulations. 2001 which include the following:
  • Weighing motor vehicles gross vehicle (GVW) > 3,500kg plying on our public roads 
  • Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded vehicles:
  • Measuring physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for providing advice to transporter tot provision od relevant advice.
  • Recording all necessary particular regarding the motor vehicle being weighed;
  • Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity:
  • Reporting all matter of the respective shift-in-charge
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Shift In-charge Regional Manager:

C:       REMUNERATION 

According to TANROADS Salary Scale: TRS 4.1 

1.1.3. POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIDGE CASHIER (1 POST).

A. Key qualification for the Weighbridge Cashier: 

  1. Holder of ordinary Secondary Education/Advance Secondary Education and ATEC, NABE Stage III or equivalent
  2. Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications). 
  3. Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages
  4. Must be Tanzanian Cuzco.
  5. Not above 35 years of Age. 

B:       Duties and Responsibilities of Weighbridge Cashier.  The holder of this past who reports to Shiti In charge will be responsible for

  1. Record properly all required weighbridge accounting information.
  2. Ensure that all necessary accounting for at the weighbridge walion are properly filled and kept.
  3. Provide reports on axle loading accounting procedures which may be required.
  4. Take Cure of weighbridge accountable documents
  5. Cooperate with the relevant parties involved in the axle control operations. 
  6. Implement directives relating to axle load control from the high authority and station supervisor
  7. To receive money and issue receipts to defaulters.
  8. Ensure that all receipts are timely recorded and banked
  9. Maintain accurate records of receipts received/issued
  10. Arranges the prompt of utility and other invoices related to the day to day running of the office.
  11.  Maintain defaulters register
  12. Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his/her superior or by Head of Accountant and Administration Regional Manager.
  13. Reporting all matters to the shift In charge Axle Load control supervisor.  

C: REMUNERATION  According to TANROADS Salary Scale: TRS 3.1
